The VIVA Nursing Educational Programme is an initiative by the VIVA Foundation for Children with Cancer that aims to educate, empower, and connect nurses across the region who care for children with cancer. Through webinars and collaborative learning, the programme fosters regional knowledge exchange and professional development in paediatric oncology nursing.

This session features Ms Cheryl Au, Dietitian at National University Hospital, who will discuss the role of nutrition in supporting pediatric oncology survivors. With a focus on practical strategies and the importance of nurse-led screening and education, the talk aims to equip healthcare professionals with tools to help young survivors thrive beyond treatment.

As childhood cancer survival rates improve, long-term health and quality of life have become central goals. Nutrition plays a critical role in supporting growth, maintaining healthy body composition, preventing metabolic and bone complications, and enhancing overall well-being in survivors. This talk will highlight evidence-based nutrition strategies, practical interventions, and the pivotal role of nurses in screening, education, and collaboration with dietitians to help young survivors not just survive, but thrive.
