PRESENTATION SUMMARY
St Jude Global Nursing Collaboration by Dr Monnie Abraham
Nurses are central to attaining the WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer (GICC) goal of reaching at least a 60% survival rate for children with cancer by 2030. Yet many challenges plague the delivery of quality nursing care, influencing care outcomes, particularly in a resource-limited setting. The St Jude Global Nursing’s ICON project, a country-specific, comprehensive initiative that examines the complex dynamics of pediatric oncology- hematology nursing to understand the system and identify barriers to delivering sustainable, high-quality nursing care. This presentation discusses the ICON project implementation and provides insights on how other hospitals can join it.
