ABOUT THE WEBINAR
VIVA ASIA BMT CONSORTIUM AUTUMN SCHOOL 2021:
20-21 November 2021 | 14.00 - 17:30 SGT (UTC+8)
We all know that paediatric haematopoietic cell transplant (HCT) is a complex, multi-step procedure that is high risk and high cost. Paediatric HCT also causes high anxiety in all who are involved. While the healthcare teams can focus on the technical aspects, patients, parents, and families have so much more to worry about. If healthcare teams can develop a robust system of care, we can better support our patients. We recognise that the field of Paediatric HCT is expansive, and it is challenging to develop such a system. Fortunately, there are established frameworks from which we rely on to build our programs to achieve global standards of care.
The VABMT consortium has been running schools to share knowledge and skills and provide fellowship in this challenging field of work. We appreciate that education can change practice which translates to quality of care for our patients and families.
This Autumn 2021, the VABMT school will embark on a new series of educational activities. This is based on the constructive feedback we have received in our recent schools. We will have 2 afternoons of interactive talks focus on developing Paediatric HCT programs. We are using the FACT-JACIE standards as a guide to sequence the priorities with the aim to meet the learning needs of our global audience. We have put together 2 exciting programs with esteemed speakers who have a great deal of experience in their specialities. We look forward to welcoming each and every one of you online, and to learn from each other. Meanwhile, we wish you peace and joy. Please keep well and healthy.
