Our Covid-19 Response for Childhood Cancer Patients

Cancer does not stop, even in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. It has made things even harder for kids with cancer--with compromised immunities, they've had to stay home since the beginning of the outbreak. Unable to go to school, meet friends, and go outside due to heightened risks from childhood cancer. It's even more important for them to stay home and practice social distancing.

As a response to the pandemic, VIVA has rolled out several programmes with the support of several partners across Singapore to support households affected by childhood cancer--from activities to do at home, resources for staying healthy and well, to equipment needed for online learning. VIVA Covid-19 Care Pack Children with cancer are especially at risk with the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic—so it's even more important to stay home and practise social distancing! VIVA put together the Covid-19 Care Pack to show our support for families affected by childhood cancer during the Circuit Breaker period.		Computers Against Covid VIVA is partnering Engineering Good's programme– Computers Against Covid– to distribute pre-loved, refurbished laptops to those affected by childhood cancer and would need the equipment for home and web-based learning during and after Singapore's Covid-19 circuit breaker phase. VIVA Daily Tips As families affected by childhood cancer stay at home during the Covid-19 pandemic, VIVA will be sharing via email a daily dose of books, resources, activity videos, and other online materials for enjoyment and learning!		VIVA La Mondays Perk up your Mondays! Tune in to a live session with VIVA and an artist every Monday at 5pm (SGT) to interpret and perform a piece of art—a melody, a song, a dance, based on works submitted by kids with cancer. VIVA x The Red Pencil Art Therapy Programme VIVA teams up with The Red Pencil (Singapore) to offer an Art Therapy Programme for those affected by childhood cancer. Through the creative arts, kids and families can heal and grow through self-expression towards empowerment and resilience in this difficult period.
