Every year, about 40 children in Singapore are diagnosed with malignant brain tumours. It is the second most common cancer in children, after leukaemia. The inaugural Paediatric Brain Tumour Awareness Day in Singapore was organised by the Brain Tumour Society (Singapore) to raise awareness of the illness. They were supported by volunteers from the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School.

Chairman of VIVA Foundation – Mrs Jennifer Yeo was the Guest of Honour at the event. In her speech, she shared about her own personal experience as a parent of a childhood cancer survivor, and this inspired and encouraged many parents in the audience. She proceeded to flag-off 24 Lamborghinis – which ferried young patients on a joyride from the KK Women's and Children's Hospital to Kallang Leisure Park, the rally's end-point. The children were elated to ride in these super-cars!
