Workshop Objectives:

  • To review the principles of leukemia diagnosis and treatment
  • To learn how to conceptualize a leukemia protocol
  • To learn about principles of protocol design, enrollment, implementation and monitoring
  • To have a brief introduction / review of data management

 

Programme:

  • Lectures on specific aspects of a leukemia protocol
  • One-on-one discussion on participants’ own protocol and review of its implementation in their own center
  • Lecture on practical aspects of supportive care designed for developing countries
  • Lecture, demonstration and hands-on exercises in data management

 

Who Should Attend:

  • This is a workshop dedicated to researchers/ clinicians caring for children with leukemia interested in designing a study protocol for countries with limited resources
  • A basic requirement is a good in-depth knowledge of leukemia / pediatric cancers

  • Participation is by invitation only but we will entertain inquiries and consider whether this workshop is suitable for other applicants
