SINGAPORE WINE AUCTION & GALA DINNER


The Singapore Wine Auction Gala Dinner was a spectacular night of cuisine, wine and entertainment with over 500 guests in attendance in aid of the VIVA Foundation for Children with Cancer. Nearly SGD 800,000 was raised from a combination of tables sold and lots auctioned at the event which was themed "Summer at the Vineyard". The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr George Yeo, was the Guest of Honour that evening.


The Gala Dinner involved four celebrity chefs Cat Cora, Jean-Christophe Novelli, Sebastien Ehret and Angelo Sanelli, each of whom prepared a course. Complementing the courses was a variety of champagne and wines.

A total of 26 lots featuring top-end wines paired together with exciting and interesting premium lots were auctioned by senior auctioneer Stephen Mould from Sotheby's.


Some of the rare and valuable wines auctioned that evening included Châteaux Pétrus, Château Latour and Château Margeaux, Dom Perignon, Château d’ Yquem from France, Grange from Australia and rare whiskeys and ports from Europe and Australia some of which were over 120 years old. 

All of the wine lots were paired with other premium items including journeys on the Eastern & Oriental Express, tickets to Paris Fashion week, VIP/red carpet treatment at Cannes Film Festival and the Sundance Film Festival, tickets to the FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium, VIP trip to Leeuwin Estate winery and Concert in Margaret River, tickets to Sampras/Federer tennis match in KL, and a drive around KL Formula 1 track with racer Alex Yoong.


Entertainment for the evening was headlined by four-time Grammy winner k.d. lang and also included short sketches by local comedians and entertainers, Hossan Leong and Pam Oei.
